Oh the Places You Will Go | Philippine Editorial Photography

I belong to a lineage.

My grandparents were missionaries in Asia for decades, My parents carry their vision today. Though I may not move abroad to carry on the ministry I support the vision through my own gifting, Photography.

Last April, with the fundraising from local businesses and lifelong friends I went to Davao (Mindanao, Philippines) to do probono photography for my parents ministry: Biosand Water Filter {BSF} and Cross Culture Ministries. It was my immense privilege to provide them with photography and videography for their ministry websites.

I also joined up with Haven of Hope Orphanage and Peace be with You Ministries to do both Videography and Photography. I was submersed in places and meeting people I will only ever meet once this side of heaven. I walked the streets of poverty and saw sadness that breaks your heart, but I also saw the pure joy that one person can have despite having nothing. My camera found so many moments, but as you will quickly tell the children of the Philippines stole my heart and make up the majority of my images. I deeply feel that the innocence and purity of a child draws you in and inspires you to make a difference for their generation and countless to follow.

I am planning to go again this summer to help provide multiple ministries with photography/videography that will be vital in sharing their ministries. I am in need of sponsors for this trip and if you would like to be apart of this ministry your contribution can be made out to Cross Culture Ministries and receive a tax deductible receipt.

Now with no further adieu, just a taste of some of my favorite pictures of the 2012 trip.

Much love, Stephanie

Mike & Andrea | Vancouver Wedding Photography

When Andrea contacted me about shooting her wedding I was beside myself with excitement for my Vancouver bride, we had so many ideas on where to go, and even though the initial engagement session was impromptu we made it work and I fell inlove instantly with their images. I asked Andrea what their love story was, and she was more then kind enough to give us a glimpse into the moment that changed her life for good, the engagement story!

Andrea writes: “We flew over to Palm Springs June 3rd, when we arrived in sunny Palm springs the weather was beautiful the air was crisp and breezy and the temperature was just right! It was around the second night we were watching a local jazz band at the beautiful resort, after a few glasses of red wine and watching an amazing guitar player finish his solo, Mike then asked me to walk around the koi ponds in the area and to glance at the full moon shining that night. We walked over to an uncover patio area staring at this one koi pond that had the moon shining so bright over top of water it was glistening so beautiful !  At that moment mike handed me a penny and had one in his hand and asked me to make a wish at that moment and throw the penny in the beautiful pond (which I did) ! He asked what I wished for , of course I said ‘I can’t tell you or else it will not come true’ I asked him what he wished for , and that is when he pulled the ring out and said ‘for you to be my wife forever and always !’ And the rest follows ….”

I cant wait for their September Wedding at St. Francis and Queen Elizabeth Park!

Much love to both Mike and Andrea ♥

Adrian & Michelle | Chilliwack Wedding Photography

Adrian and Michelle are very dear to my heart, Michelle and I both met our men online… always a nervous moment before you actually meet the guy. But their very first date was nothing but perfect, it was a coffee date (as most are) and the date lasted 8 hours and became the beginning of the greatest adventures of their lives. Michelle is such a lovely soul, with an infectious smile and giggle I couldn’t help but fall in love with them as a couple.

Their warm and inviting personalities would fool you if you really knew their professions  Adrian is an armed guard, and Michelle is a Guard at the Prison. They instantly had something in common and the longer they were together the more they found in each other. I wish Adrian and Michelle decades upon decades upon decades of married bliss, never were two people more perfect for each other then they are.

Royce & Tasha | Chilliwack Wedding Photography

Royce and Tasha have got to be the cutest eclectic couple I have met this year. With their little Gold Table Number Dinosaur and wedding colored balloons it was shaping up to be a fun session. We had lots of laughs throughout the hour and I laughed just as much as they did when I was changing lenses; I told them to stop being cute so I dont miss anything picture worthy… then while I was changing lenses I heard Royce saying to Tasha “STOP BEING SO CUTE”. I cannot wait to shoot their wedding this May, It will be equally as sweet!

Margie | Chilliwack Fashion Photography

I absolutely adore Margie. We have done two sessions before and they were very artsy, she’s always been game for anything. So when I wanted to take my budding second photographer out during a session we got to play with reflective light from my Light Disk. I had a ton of fun and enjoyed myself thoroughly!
