Deanne glowed in the white blossoms that framed her face at yesterdays Spring Session. I adored this session, the start to the bright new season, and the epitome of springtime joy.
Have you booked your session yet? Come take advantage of this beautiful spring setting with me. I would love nothing more than to deliver high quality prints for you to frame in your home, and an experience that will leave a smile on your face!
I adore photographing off the beaten path, pulled into the wild, and inspired by my surroundings. Though Chilliwack River Road may not be far off or exotic, it definitely satisfies the itch to photograph someone in a beautiful setting. The mountains enveloped around us and a forest of tall beautiful green trees complimented Nicole and her dynamic beauty.
With a dark Red Vamp lip, and smokey eyes, Nicole came to life in front of the camera. Her personality in general is unique and those who have the pleasure of knowing her know the joy she is, her humor alone had us both laughing between shots.
It truly was a pleasure photographing Nicole, and I hope to work with her again in the future!
“All that is Gold does not glitter, not all who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost. From ashes a fire shall be woken, a light from the shadows shall spring; renewed shall be blade that was broken: the crownless again shall be king” – J.R.R.Tolkien
When the warmth of her golden glow sets fire to the winter snow, she comes alive with the power in her eyes.
I had an amazing time collaborating with Jennifer Marie last week, and in the midst of rain and snow she nailed an exceptional portrait session!
I have been watching the “Once Upon a Time” TV series, and this golden goddess felt like a page out of the old leather book full of folklore.
I had such a great time photographing Henry and Joka’s engagement pictures; constant laughter and a perfect afternoon glow blessed the session, and their hearts. I am so honored to photograph this lovely couple’s 2016 spring wedding, their love is a sight to be seen, and I cant wait for May!
I am so incredibly in love with this session with Kirsten, the little Disney princess inside me is gleaming from ear to ear humming “When you wish upon a star” as I pressed the shutter.
Show your little girls images like these, ones that inspire them to believe anything is possible!
Thank you Kirsten for being a spectacular subject to photograph!
Yes this was the moment, the expression that made the princess within her to come alive! I loved adding a fairy element to the scene.
The sun was high in the city of the midnight sun. Yellowknife was a buzz as the weekend was fast approaching the Folk on the Rocks music festival, but the Thursday evening rendered some spectacular light and an equally amazing family.
Mellisa and her troop of boys came to the session in matching blues and matching smiles. I remembered the trail well and we talked and laughed from each spot we stopped to photograph at. I adored this session for the amazing connection between a mother and her sons.
Thank you Mellisa for inviting me to photograph your family photos!
I wanted to officially announce that my photography business is operating out of Chilliwack again, for past and future clients I wanted to let you know I am here to photograph your biggest and smallest moments again. I know a lot of people are still asking if I am in town, and YES I am!
So to say hello again Fraser Valley I am doubling up my portrait sessions. More time, more photos, and half the price!

Have you ever been so in love, and had to say goodbye?
In January of 2014 I was a newly wed making the long move North from the West coast of BC to the frigid NWT. I had visited before during the winter months so I was emotionally prepared for the drop in temperature, what I wasn’t prepared for was the isolation I would feel being so far from my friends and family. With interesting jobs that never panned out I found a silver lining in each situation. I made sincere friendships with my coworkers. From Joel and Samantha (Saturday nights ordering takeout and playing games or watching cult classics or amine) to Paul and Nigit Stil (Our super mellow hangouts and inspired photoshoots) to the most random group of pop culture nerds and karaoke power houses, you know who you are. I was introduced to such an amazing circle of friends!
It wasn’t just the close friendships I made, but the incredible uniqueness of the city of Yellowknife and it’s amazing residents and causal traveler passing through. Each time I ventured from my doors I found new reasons to fall in love with this place.
I felt the comraderee of the arts community I was involved in. I have never come across a group of creative people so eager to pass on knowledge and lend a hand to another photographer as I did in Yellowknife.
Getting involved with Folk on the Rocks last year was the highlight of my summer. Photographing the events, musicians, and festival goers put me in the heat of the essence of what Yellowknife is to all those who find home here, it is family! Everyone is individual and unique, but together we weaved a diverse tapestry of beauty.
Having to move away last fall grieved my heart, I still long to be living in a place that saw me as I see myself, that grieved when I left too, I remember Nigit Stil clinging to me sniffling into my shoulder as she hugged me goodbye, I don’t think I have ever had such an emotional move as I did when we left. I left a piece of my heart North of 60.
Needless to say, I am over the moon about visiting this July from July 13th to 22nd. I am coming home, I can’t wait to see you!
The photography below was taken by me on my last Helicopter ride at GSH, I hope you enjoy the view from above!
Dawn and Ryan are the perfect combination of joy and strength. I was honoured when they asked me to photograph their maternity photos. These two have so much history and beautiful memories that I have yet to discover, getting to know them a little more during our evening together at Stave Falls was the highlight of the session.
We started at the spot they said their vows to one another and as we went along they showed their beauty and joy throughout each photo.
I fell instantly in love with these portraits of Dawn, true and deep beauty glowed from her face and treasured bump.
Ian and I went on a getaway to the Island where we met the Vage family out of perfect happenstance. Heidi and her family live at a Christian Camp called Esperanza, nestled along the inlet. Our first introduction was when we stopped at their dock to fuel up our boat.
As Heidi said “It was the Lords timing” that I was in their small town to photograph her family, and after a week of rain the sun came out for their session, it was truly blessed.
Like, share, and leave a comment for this amazing family doing great things for children, youth, and young adults!
