Adrian and Michelle are very dear to my heart, Michelle and I both met our men online… always a nervous moment before you actually meet the guy. But their very first date was nothing but perfect, it was a coffee date (as most are) and the date lasted 8 hours and became the beginning of the greatest adventures of their lives. Michelle is such a lovely soul, with an infectious smile and giggle I couldn’t help but fall in love with them as a couple.
Their warm and inviting personalities would fool you if you really knew their professions Adrian is an armed guard, and Michelle is a Guard at the Prison. They instantly had something in common and the longer they were together the more they found in each other. I wish Adrian and Michelle decades upon decades upon decades of married bliss, never were two people more perfect for each other then they are.
Royce and Tasha have got to be the cutest eclectic couple I have met this year. With their little Gold Table Number Dinosaur and wedding colored balloons it was shaping up to be a fun session. We had lots of laughs throughout the hour and I laughed just as much as they did when I was changing lenses; I told them to stop being cute so I dont miss anything picture worthy… then while I was changing lenses I heard Royce saying to Tasha “STOP BEING SO CUTE”. I cannot wait to shoot their wedding this May, It will be equally as sweet!
Melissa is a fabulous hairstylist at Ambience Salon (Garrison Crossing), owned by two very dear friends of mine Sue and Roland. Melissa has cut and dyed my hair a couple times and every time we’d talk about everything under the stars, including her boyfriend, Dennis.
After four years together, Dennis proposed to Melissa.
Melissa was beside herself excited, with a gorgeous ring on her hand and a loving man by her side what she needed now was a photographer. Melissa was quick to start searching and her Facebook post had a plethora of photographers names being submitted for her consideration, but her boss (as well as another client) told her I would be perfect for her. I was so excited when she contacted me about doing her engagement session. I’m in love with all of their pictures and look forward to their wedding.
I met Lindsay two years ago at her sister wedding. I remember I was running around getting prep shots as all the girls were getting ready. I caught Lindsay texting her boyfriend, “I miss you”. She missed him on this important day, Dean lives across Canada and she met him via bible school and he couldn’t make it out. I could see it in her eyes, she adored him and wanted nothing more than to have him there with her.
Two years later he got down on one knee right before Christmas and Lindsay without pause said YES. I was so excited to see her announce it to all her friends and family on Facebook, I added my ‘like’ and a few messages later she asked for me to shoot her May wedding.
I knew Dean was only here for a short visit so I got to work quickly. When Lindsay asked when? I said lets shoot your pictures on Christmas Day between all the breakfasts and dinners, and we did.
Im so excited to take her wedding photos. The Blocks are such loving and welcoming people, and Im blessed to be apart of another of their daughters weddings. Its like going home to people you know!
You know how you know someone through a friend of a friend… well Michelle is a friend of some of the nicest friends I know.
When I sat down with Michelle she told me all about her and Adrian’s love story. She met him online and went for a simple date, a date that ended up lasting all day long. You know that feeling when there is an instant connection? I could relate to Michelle instantly after I knew their story, and I couldn’t wait to photograph their next chapter.
When we scheduled their session I took no notice at what day it would fall upon, and when I looked at the date a second time we had a good laugh, we weren’t worried about the weather just the apocalypse. Luckily for all of us, we survived. The session was so full of love that I quite instantly fell in love with them myself, the two shone together. I simply cannot wait to shoot their wedding this February, MY FIRST 2013 bride!
Merry Christmas Adrian & Michelle
^ I got to test out my second shooter’s FISH EYE!!! I stick to primes and zooms, but have yet to buy a fish eye. Im thankful for Dave and his trusty little fish eye, it was definitely fun to play with.
Janine and I share something very special in common… we share the most adorable niece ever.
More than 4 years ago now Janine’s sister became a huge part of my brother Brent’s life. And ever since… well simply put, we became family.
We waited and watched Justin and Janine’s budding relationship over the years… and when Justin finally proposed on the roof top of Janine’s parents house with fireworks set off by friends, Janine said yes.
I was so blessed to be asked by Janine to be their wedding photographer, to share in their day and provide them with wedding pictures that will bring them back to that very moment they promised forever to one another.
Im such a gushy one, I get teary eyed simply thinking about the overwhelming love a bride and groom have for one another. This sweeping emotion that they hold in their eyes, that translates to everyone around them. Such intense all encompassing love. I can only imagine how that day will feel and being able to be there for that moment with Janine meant more to me then words can express.
I wish you both an eternity of love and laughter, and a life that has blessing in every step you take together.
The last 3 images…. my heart…. the father daughter dance had me in tears.
Gord and Natalie are quite possibly my favorite, but I may be biased.
I met them shortly after I started dating Gord’s brother Ian, I fast fell in love with them, their hearts, and their passion for life. Natalie had met Gord in high school and after graduation went to school in the UK, Gord had gone to film school (both adventurers at heart). For the last 6 years they have found love and eternity in each others hearts and arms.
I was more then honored to be apart of their big day; and Natalie, you took everyone’s breath away especially Gord’s. Though it was shot this past summer im blessed to share their wedding on my blog, all my love to you Mr. & Mrs. Wills.
Levi (our American) and Sarah-Lynn (our Canadian) met while at Bible School in California. This couple is extra special to me because they had to be long distance until everything lined up and he could finally move to Canada and marry his sweetheart.
The wedding party was hilarious, especially since one whole half of the bridal party (the groomsmen) was VERY MUCH American. We laughed just as much as we cried this day, there was such an evident respect and honor toward this day, barely a dry eye there.
Jason & Divine have been together for 6 years, and this Thanksgiving they announced their engagement to the entire family. I cant wait to see them promise forever to each other. Jason is the son of my late uncle Ken, much like his father he isn’t too big on romantic mushiness… but Divine gave that lovely little smile and he was all game! CONGRATS YOU TWO LOVELIES!
I remember the day clearly. Our church always surprises everyone when engagement’s happen (if the couple can keep it under wraps without spoiling the secret) by announcing the newly engaged couple from the pulpit. We all knew it was coming, we didn’t know when.
Before the pastor was about to make the announcement Lucille came to my row shuffled in beside me and said “They are going to announce our engagement this morning, I wanted to tell you first, and we want you to be our photographer” I CLEARLY SAID YES!
I knew Lucille more then I knew her fiance Nathan. Lucille was a few grades below me in private school. After Graduation Lucille moved to the city and walked through a difficult season of her life, but God intervened. When she came back to City Life Church she proceeded to attend the Masters Commission, a discipleship program in our church. It was an amazing season of growth and healing for her, coincidentally also where she met NATHAN! Of course you can’t date in MC so after they were done he asked her out… and the rest as they say is history.
The one thing that made my heart melt the most was that Emma (Lucille’s baby girl she adopted to an amazing couple in our church ) was her flower girl. Cue “awwww’s” and girly emotion. I really love how Lucille has had such an open adoption with Emma’s parents, and they have such a great connection.
Now Lucille and Nathan are walking into a whole new season… A marriage with lots of smiles, laughter, and love. They are such a bright and joyful couple that has found eachother and become closer as a couple because they became closer to their saviour. Mr. and Mrs. Shankland are such a great example of a relationship wholly set on God.
All the best you two, and I was so incredibly blessed to be apart of your big day!
This is Shawn and Keri, Emma’s mommy and daddy… Emma hamming it up of course and every one having a good laugh
I have never had such a vocal bridal party, both sides were singing at this moment!
