I adore photographing off the beaten path, pulled into the wild, and inspired by my surroundings. Though Chilliwack River Road may not be far off or exotic, it definitely satisfies the itch to photograph someone in a beautiful setting. The mountains enveloped around us and a forest of tall beautiful green trees complimented Nicole and her dynamic beauty.
With a dark Red Vamp lip, and smokey eyes, Nicole came to life in front of the camera. Her personality in general is unique and those who have the pleasure of knowing her know the joy she is, her humor alone had us both laughing between shots.
It truly was a pleasure photographing Nicole, and I hope to work with her again in the future!
I am so incredibly in love with this session with Kirsten, the little Disney princess inside me is gleaming from ear to ear humming “When you wish upon a star” as I pressed the shutter.
Show your little girls images like these, ones that inspire them to believe anything is possible!
Thank you Kirsten for being a spectacular subject to photograph!
Yes this was the moment, the expression that made the princess within her to come alive! I loved adding a fairy element to the scene.
Two days into my Yellowknife Vacation and I have felt so much love and support. There have been deep conversations with friends, laughter, and moments of intense creativity.
Last year I worked with Erykah on two creative portraiture projects, one was regarding Mother Earth and the second was a Levitation portrait.
Erykah is a true creative, she is an exceptional nail tech, Jagua designer, dancer, and model. Not only was it a joy to photograph her in the heart of Yellowknife overlooking Frame Lake, but it was refreshing to reconnect and spend some quality time together.
I brought my bolt of tule and lace with me in my carry on and I fashioned a dress from a white bed sheet and used the tule to create shape and an ethereal movement to the fabric as well. It’s creative sessions like these that revive me as an artist.
I often find myself online looking for inspiration. Today I came back to two photographers that I love, Miss Aniela and Aaron Nace of Phlearn. Their work in levitation photography sparked my creativity.
Erykah Tam, my most recent model for my “regrowth” series ( which I will be featuring on the blog this next month) had the perfect dancer like posture that levitation photography requires.
This Photograph is titled “Mind over Matter” and I want to keep adding to this levitation series. If you are interested in learning the technique both in shooting and surreal editing I am considering hosting a “Levitation Photography Workshop” in Chilliwack BC this fall.

The beauty of Yellowknife is found in its rolling hills; painted with a warm cinnamon hued brush and evergreen trees perched atop monolithic rock formations. Upon moving to Yellowknife I joked about the constant state of white, how I had become color-blind in the constant winter slumber. As the sun melted away the blankets of snow I saw the true character of the landscape and I was instantly inspired.
Sadetlo is a beautiful Yellowknife model; and when I asked her to join me on an impromptu photo shoot capitalizing on the beauty of nature she was excited to play with the vision I had.Nature and the human form combine in this series of images, influenced by the setting sun and moody clouds, this session centered on the Awakening of Spring shows the initial thaw of a cold world coming back to life.

I absolutely adore Margie. We have done two sessions before and they were very artsy, she’s always been game for anything. So when I wanted to take my budding second photographer out during a session we got to play with reflective light from my Light Disk. I had a ton of fun and enjoyed myself thoroughly!
Michelle and I met through a model page on Facebook and met up for the first time for a very forward shoot… I like to call it my Tim Burton session.
Since then I have worked with her at Galaxy Cinema’s and she’s changed her hairstyles multiple times (but then again, so have I) … So this session is definitely different from the last. Michelle you are so much fun to shoot, stay fierce and enjoy!
Nina Lilly is an aspiring model and photographer in town that I met through networking with local models. She enjoy’s being infront of the camera just as much as being behind the lens. Nina also has a knack for designing her own clothes, so when she wanted to do a bit of a rocker/rebel styled shoot I was more then game. Note the cool vest she made out of an old shirt that she cut up and fashioned into a skull face.
